Introducing Polly: The GG Team's Details Diva

The Girls Getaways team has a brand new member! We’re so excited to welcome Polly, our Details Diva, to the team. Polly has a background working in project management, and is also the regular organiser of catch-ups and events with her girlfriends. She looks after all the fine details for GG packages, booking in the inclusions and activities to ensure that everything is perfectly arranged for a fabulous and indulgent weekend away.

To welcome her to the team, we had a chat with Polly to find out a little more about her…

Are you a Summer or a Winter Gal?

I'm definitely a summer girl - I'd much rather be too hot than too cold! I spent my childhood living in a tropical climate, in Kenya, so I've always preferred warm weather.  I love going to the beach and spending time outdoors in the summer.

Fave Australian & Overseas Holiday Destinations?

I always find favourite holiday destinations hard to pick, as I love visiting different places so much and for different reasons - so I have many favourites, depending on the type of getaway it is!  Domestically, I think we are pretty spoiled in Sydney with all the amazing things we have nearby for easy weekends away - like the Hunter, Blue Mountains and north & south coasts.  But I do also love a  quick city-break to Melbourne to take in the different vibe there and enjoy all the lovely restaurants and hidden bars.  Overseas favourites are even harder to choose, but somewhere I'd go back to again and again if I could would be The Maldives... the tropical beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, time spent snorkelling & diving, or just lazing on a sunbed with a cocktail and a good book is like heaven to me!

Do you read the book or see the movie or both?

Hmmm... I would probably prefer to read the book AND see the movie... but sometimes I think the movie can be disappointing if you've already read the book!  I think books generally go into more detail than movies... and as a reader, it's fun to picture the characters in your mind. But I don't find much time for reading these days - so it's often just the movie for me!
