Mother Daughter Getaway

Hi GG sisterhood,

I am Emma, an intern at Girls Getaways and in 2011 my mum, my sister and I went on our first mother-daughter trip to Bora Bora and had such an amazing time that we decided we would make it a tradition that every five years we would go on a little girls getaway. Five years on and we just got back from an incredible week in Paris.

The trip was full to the brim of incredible architecture and art as well as more food than I can count. Every day we explored a new area of Paris each with it’s own rich history and beautiful buildings. It was an incredible way to take a break from our individually busy lives and spend quality-bonding time together while making memories that would last a lifetime.

We stayed in an incredible apartment right next to the Eiffel tower with unbeatable views making it the perfect base to explore the rest of Paris. One of my favorite days was our day trip out to Versailles where we were the first people to enter for the day and had a few moments when we had the incredibly opulent palace to ourselves. We then continued for a few more hours out to Giverny to see Monet's last home and the garden that inspired his Water Lily paintings. Which made seeing the paintings later in the week at the Musee de l’Orangerie that bit more special.

Overall it was an incredible trip with memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. We are already planning our next trip and getting lots of inspiration from the Girls Getaways trips with plans to book a day out in Sydney with GG to set aside a time to try and decide what amazing destination to travel to next.
