Why You Should Pamper Yourself This Weekend

February 22, 2016 by Jennifer Anson

You’ve probably heard this a lot, but I’m going to say it again. Pampering yourself is good for the body, mind and soul.

Some of us are lucky enough to be able to afford regular facials and massages, or maybe even a day at a spa, but that’s not always an option for everyone. That doesn’t mean you’re limited! As I wrote about in my previous post, all it can take is a couple of hours at home to yourself and some key household ingredients to make your own face, body and hair masks while watching a movie.

A great book to read is Eat Pretty, which highlights benefits of certain food for your hair, skin and body and some great homemade remedies. Of course, you can always treat yourself to one of our pamper packages and gather a few girlfriends together!

That’s body pampering, but now I want to talk about pampering your soul. I have recently started yoga after being away from it for a few years. I enjoy the Saturday morning outside session, breathing in the fresh air. Even if I’m not feeling 100%, I always feel better as long as I do my yoga practice at my own pace. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea; however, you can always find something that you do where your body and soul will benefit. Maybe a walk to the park with the pram and some gentle exercise while baby sleeps (hopefully!), or a walk to your favourite cafe for a coffee or chai latte.

Another great way to nourish your soul and keep stress and anxiety at bay is with a morning routine that really starts your day off on the right track. We all know that sometimes we get out of the wrong side of the bed and our days just don’t go to plan, so it’s good to combat those times with a morning routine you can count on. It’s done wonders for me!
