In November, I took our Hen’s Party guru, Jo, on a trip to Byron Bay to familiarise her with the area. Not surprisingly, Byron is listed in the Top 10 Wedding Destinations in the World, so of course many brides choose to have their hen’s party before the wedding during what might be a fun week-long wedding celebration. Combined with the affordable airfares, beautiful coast and hinterland and relaxed vibe, it’s no wonder so many couples choose to celebrate at Byron Bay!
We were fortunate to be hosted by Deb Fowler and Byron Luxury Beach Houses for a night, a perfect location for groups with six four-bedroom houses and a pool as the central point. Close to town and a 2-min walk to the beach - it’s absolutely perfect and I can’t wait to go back with my husband, girlfriends or daughter soon.
Jo is from the UK and has never been to Byron She loved the natural beauty and the creative businesses that are a-buzz in the region. We chatted with Kelly from Bower Botanicals, who will provide floral headwreath classes. We visited Bangalow and a lovely property where afternoon tea can be served in the garden, plus a Bali-inspired day spa that will be perfect for the Girls Getaways pamper packages. Jo’s favourite was the visit to Crystal Castle in the hinterland just 20 minutes from Byron, where there’s a cafe and giant beautiful crystals in the garden. You might fancy an aura reading or mystic reading.
We had a beautiful dinner at the Treehouse with some live music and then wandered back to Byron Luxury Beach Houses, which completed a perfect night. All work and no play is definitely not our motto!
My own birthday will be celebrated in Byron Bay this year. Any excuse will do to visit this lovely part of Australia! Book your own getaway now.
